The Cannabis Act came into action. Were there any concerns with how this was handled?
Yeah, so the Cannabis acts in 2018. I think the biggest thing we draw from this is that that's like liquor or much like healthcare. There is an overarching Federal Regulation or I guess Federal Federal governance as well as a more particular more specific provincial regulation of Maintenance of the I guess suspension and maintenance of marijuana.
in that sense, I think Canada being such a vast province with the very unique population distribution for each province. I think it's an appropriate approach to managing cannabis and I think that much like healthcare or much relief liquor delegating to the province's to govern cannabis and to regulate it in its own means is appropriate approach because our population is so so vast in that sense in that are
Not just geographically but even culturally and ethnically diverse throughout the each province and I think maintaining a public health approach that caters to each population from a provincial basis is the right way to go about things this. Yeah, I guess dispatch to marijuana and the problems that are associated with do line the public health and safety of our most. Well listen in the legal realm in my
Ian, I think first of all we need to address marijuana use and their lives fencing as a public health priority in a public health concern since this is something that's very new. And even the research on it is quite new. So noting the long-term effects in the ramifications of the use of marijuana is incredibly important in educating the population esta to how to use this.
Safely and how to use marijuana in appropriate and responsible manner something that's going to be very much important in I guess the rollout in dispensing this marijuana. And the other thing is how do we how do we regulate age age of access as well as other laws surrounding its use you know, since it is a substance that affects your neurological system. We do you think about or conditions say for conditions?
All safe driving and being able to test for these think for marijuana in the presence of marijuana as well. And so each province will be different and how it develops. I guess legislation and laws surrounding safe driving in support and that public health approach to Safe marijuana use
and so those are things that we need to think about when when these responsibilities are dedicated is delegated to each province. We need to think about how our approach is going to affect the population that a large and that hole.
And what is what is the best approach that keeps the safety of the population in the Forefront of our mind because that'll be that'll be the biggest piece. I think that comes out of this is much like alcohol. How do we manage and how do we regulate the dispense of alcohol in a safe way? And how do we inform the population about appropriate and safe use of alcohol?
So I think those are the problems that are going to be the biggest pieces to tackle. So yeah in summary, I think the provincial regulation and the delegation from the federal government to the provinces to maintain and regulating dispense this drug and do it accordingly to their provincial means is appropriate for sure, but I think we just have a few issues that will be
We need to be addressed such as public health citizen safety and I guess work safety driving safety age of access. All those components want to be flushed out a little bit better.
