The Cannabis Act came into action. Were there any concerns with how this was handled?
So the situation that we have here is the federal government has passed the Cannabis law and we are seeing whether it was okay for them to do that and let the provincial and Municipal governments deal with the downstream effects of it. So when I look at this situation, we can obviously look at it from two ways. Yes, it was a good idea or no there was it was not a good idea.
When I look at the yes portion of it what has happened is that we have now created a way for people to use marijuana in a way that's more sustainable and more efficient for people medical marijuana has been in our society for a number of years now and personally for me My Own Grandpa actually uses medical marijuana for his own spinal pain, and he comes from a generation that is totally different from what we have now.
Where they did not believe in the use of marijuana at all and is actually very beneficial because now we have actually reduced the stigma that medical marijuana medical marijuana had before and it actually allows us to have another medical option that viable for people and is not too expensive as well, which is a very big positive for many people. However, when we look at the negative side of it a lot of people will say that having this cannabis,
Slaw will actually allow more people to recreationally use drugs, right because now that people are there now that marijuana is more easily attainable. It might lead them to overdosing on it in a sense or maybe it is a gateway drug into using other recreational drugs and that might lead to more overdoses there and that can actually create more health problems for individuals and actually over crowd our medical system in the sense if
Everyone is overdosing. So in my own personal belief, I do think that this is a positive and I do think that it was okay for them to do this because medical marijuana was on the rise and by legalizing it you have now given people an opportunity to use medical marijuana or marijuana in any way that they see fit for their own health care, right? We have created this option for people to use
and although there is some negatives for me personally. I think the benefits outweigh the negatives and it gives people the autonomy to make an informed decision about what they believe is good for themselves. I think this also is important to know that now with the legalization of it. We have the stores that are selling cannabis and that allows people to buy marijuana that they need either recreational or medicinal through safe.
Steve area where they know that it is not tainted it is okay to use it has been regulated. It has been tested so they know that they're getting it from a safe area and by doing this I think solely over time we will get regulations and laws that will impact how this cannabis act regulates and I think by allowing provinces and municipalities to do it by themselves is a very small
Idea, because in different units municipalities in different provinces, you have different Target audiences and different populations where in some areas where one population might not use it as much I have tighter regulations Integra controls and then the other area where it might be a popular use for any purpose in general. They might have different regulations and different laws. And so I guess that by doing that it allows them to see fit what they
they believe they should do with the Cannabis law going forward. So not having that one generalized law for the entire country is sort of a good area for them and it allows people to actually have another source of
medical health care that they could actually use for their own self.
