Have you considered other careers besides being a physician?
Hi there. Thanks very much for being here today. The question is whether I've considered other career paths other than medicine and I absolutely have so I graduated in 2018 with Biology and natural science degree, and I've been fortunate enough to work throughout my undergrad as well as now for Parks Canada, and I currently work as an environmental assessment scientist. So in that role, we evaluate projects that are both submitted through our own Parks Canada staff as well as
External proponents such as the town of Bound for businesses in the area and we evaluate the environmental concerns related to those projects as well. As any other concerns such as policy cultural resource management concerns and we speak with other specialists in the field unit like Resource Management Specialists such as Wildlife staff and understand their concerns with projects. We often communicate then with other proponents as well. As I said,
Lie within our own staff to align the risks and benefits of these projects, and I found that really fulfilling is it is an integrating role similar to Medicine where you're able to pull together different pieces of information different pieces of policy and philosophy and Science and apply those to real case scenarios. So that's another career path that I've been enjoying, but I'm ready to take the shift and go to Medicine. Thank you.
