So when I think about health issues affecting British Columbians, the one I'm most passionate about is obesity and it's because obese I'm kind of cheating that because obesity has lots of underlying causes and it has lots of underlying symptoms and it really speaks to the common symptoms and common like ailments that British Columbians are afflicted with today.
For example, obesity is correlated with heart attacks is correlated with diabetes and muscle aches back pain. It's correlated with a lot of these common symptoms that already plague British Columbian. So if we can kind of solve the Obesity problem we can in effect solve a bunch of problems are correlated to obesity as well and obesity isn't just correlated to physical problems. Those have correlated to mental problems as well be
It's correlates. You want self-worth, especially with today's beauty standards where instead of Beauty in Canada. And the West is to be thin and this causes bad kind of implication terms of one self worth and when someone's reflecting on oneself, they might result in some self-hate where it's important to have self love because having
Self-love gives you optimism. It gives you a positive outlook on life. And at least you to do more productive and more positive things as a result of this self-love. So obesity for me is really a package that a package of illnesses and ailments that is like just a culmination of these elements into obesity. So if we somehow soap with these TV, so this Patty's package of problems.
And I feel like obesity itself is also something that's really hard to treat because obesity obesity speaks to someone's lifestyle as well. Whether they're eating healthy lifestyle or having a bad lifestyle and these Lifestyles can sometimes be involuntary. For example people of lower SES. They may want to be eating healthier, but maybe they can't afford to eat healthier. They could only afford fast food. We see food.
They can't afford healthy groceries. Maybe they can only afford snacks and they really can't get all the nutrients they need and they're probably not having a really well-balanced diet which results in obesity as well. So yeah obesity also speaks to kind of a systemic issue in society how how this disease really affects disproportionately rich people and poor people. So yeah.
Because of those three reasons, I'm more Pat most passionate about will be you.
